Mindful Art Journal Course - 3 sessions
Every Wednesday (3 sessions x 1.5 hours) Start June 15th, 7:00pm to 8:30pm Suitable Age: 18+ Course includes: Free 24 page 300gsm cold-pressed A5 journal (worth $30) and all art materials This guided 3 session introductory course provides structure and exposure to different art journal mediums and styles for beginners, or learners looking to evolve their skills. Whether it's to add more creative expression to your journals or to gain deeper personal insights and awareness, the sessions are thoughtfully crafted to explore the freedom of journaling with authenticity and creativity. Session 1: Art Journal Introduction & Intention Setting. Understand intentions of starting an art journal and learn how to express yourself with words, acrylic paints, and various collage techniques. Session 2: Environmental Awareness & Sketching. A fun, approachable, and practical application of a sketching technique that allows you to become more aware of your surroundings. Use of Micron pen, markers, pencils, and watercolour paints. Session 3: Connecting With Your Creative Spirit. Using different coloured paper, cut out shapes, and arrange them into a collage. Connect with your creative spirit through a visualization exercise and draw out what you imagine. Notes for Learners: 1. This course is NOT a replacement for art therapy. For additional support, please seek a certified therapist. 2. Learners do not need to have any artistic skills or prior artistic experience. 3. As the group may consist of learners from all walks of life and ages, please be respectful to others and keep an open mind to different perspectives and experiences.
